Apartment in Virginia: Check!
Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 7:25AM After several months of deliberation and careful consideration, Adam and I have decided to skip the mad dash to go apartment-hunting in Virginia (the following weekend we get back into the country, no less! Can you say jet lag?) and just go ahead and reserve the apartment we've been eyeing online. It sounds impulsive to put a deposit down on an apartment we have yet to see in person, but we've gotten rave reviews from a trusted friend who currently lives there, we've seen tons of photos online, and we recognize the fact we're only going to be living in the place for 7 months.
I did as much apartment-hunting online as I could and none of the other places seem to stack up to this one, as far as budget, location, square footage, and amenities were concerned. So we're going ahead and taking the plunge! Besides, it's only 7 months, and we've survived with much less for the past 2 years. So, having a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment entirely to ourselves will be quite the luxury.
Not only were we dreading the extra 10+ hour drive we'd have to make to Virginia just to view properties, but we certainly didn't want to miss out on securing an apartment at a place with limited availability. Whew! It feels good to have that big check marked off our list. So now all we have to do once we get back Stateside is gather all our furniture and home goods from all its various storage places and make the big move up to Virginia. Once. Well, until November comes around, anyway.

I was looking at one of my fav websites, younghouselove.com and saw a link to your site. I just love it! I too am a renter and I am just lost when it comes to decorating this places. Do you have any tips you could share? I am constantly buying and trying but I just can't figure out what to do in these tight spaces. Our home is almost 1300sqft. The two rooms that are most trouble some is our living/dining combo room and my 14 month old sons room. If you could so kindly share any thoughts, that would be wonderful!
