Organized Spices (Finally!)

Organizing my spice rack has been on my to-do list FOR.EV.AR. This is the dark, disorganized mess I've been dealing with up until now:

I could never find anything or I'd forget I had a certain spice and then buy duplicates. The problems were endless. So I decided to tackle this problem once and for all.

I picked up these cute little magnetic spice tins at World Market for $2 each. I was expecting the standard stainless steel color, but was pleasantly surprised with their choices of red, green, and teal. Naturally, I chose teal (see recipe binders above). Then I picked up a 12x24 sheet of metal from Lowe's for $5, tacked it up to the inside of my cabinet door and voila! Organized spices. FINALLY. Well, that was easy. What took me so long?!

What about you guys? What kind of spice organization works for you?

Nursery Notes: Cute Closet Organization

I call this project "Let's See How Many Ridiculous Nesting Projects Jen Can Complete In One Pregnancy."

I bought these blank clothing dividers from an online supply store (google search: clothing dividers) for $0.29 each and decided that they needed a little cutesy infused into them. So I created a template, found some adorable backgrounds via Google images, and tweaked them in Photoshop, customizing them in our yellow & grey nursery color scheme. Then I printed them out on white, full-sheet labels, cut them out, and stuck them on.

Cute, colorful closet organization!

Organizing Accessories

Many a necklaces have been lost to a tangled web of discombobulation, so I'm always searching for new, more efficient ways of storing my accessories. I keep my earrings in check by hanging them in the tiny holes of this mesh file folder:

And I snagged this decorative ladder from the guest bedroom and decided it's not just another pretty face- it needed to start pulling its weight around here...

And whodathunkit? Not only are my baubles and beads neatly stored away, but it makes for a pretty decorative display to boot.
